A quote attributed to Herbert Hoover says: “Fishing is much more than fish. It is the great occasion when we may return to the fine simplicity of our forefathers.” Before European settlers, Japanese fishermen, and Chinese workers came here, First Nations fishermen would set up summer fishing camps along the banks of the Fraser River near where it empties out into the Pacific.
