eBooks

I love eBooks! I’m so glad that more and more photographers are releasing content in this format as it’s a bit of an addiction for me. I like that they are instantly available and they are a relatively short read but packed with useful information. This is a list of eBooks that I’d recommend.

Seeing the Light: Making the Most of Available Light and Minimal Equipment (Mitchell Kanashkevich)
If you want to understand how Mitchell creates his amazing images in the field, you must read this one!

Taj Mahal: A Photographer’s Approach (Bruce Percy)
Simplifying Composition: The Elemental Components of a Landscape (Bruce Percy)
I just finished up the second book. These are more pricey than other eBooks but I think they’re still worth the money.

10: Ten Ways to Improve Your Craft. None of Them Involve Buying Gear (David duChemin)*
The one that started it all and destined to be a classic!

Chasing the Look: 10 Ways to Improve the Aesthetics of Your Photographs (David duChemin)*

The Inspired Eye: Notes on Creativity for Photographers Vol. I and Vol II (David duChemin)*
I read these before my trip to Kenya. I’ll leave you to decide if they were worthwhile :]

Below the Horizon: Understanding Light at the Edges of Day (Dave Delnea)*

The Magic of Black and White: Part 1 – Vision (Andrew S. Gibson)*

*May 2010 update: In the interests of full disclosure, these eBooks are published by Craft & Vision. As I am now associated with them, I won’t be adding any more of their books to this list but I will keep the ones you see here.
