Two years after returning from my African safari, my sister requested a large canvas for a big wall space. Finally a piece of my work that would hang in her beautifully decorated home or perhaps even her office at work. I ordered a 32 x 48 canvas but it went missing and wasn’t delivered to me. I started to wonder about my image hanging on someone’s wall and wished it had been a different image. That got me thinking that I should really do a giveaway as I haven’t done one in a while but I wanted to do something with a twist. So here’s the deal…
Put a link to your image in the Comments section below and I’ll do a random draw for a C$200 gift certificate towards a purchase from CanvasPop. There is a catch however, you must gift the canvas to someone else. Maybe for Valentine’s Day? Wait there’s more. When I mentioned my contest to the folks at CanvasPop here in Canada, they loved the idea of “paying it forward” and offered a second prize–a 16×20 canvas valued at $80 ($14 flat-rate shipping not included). Anyone can enter but the canvases can only be shipped with the US and Canada. CanvasPop has also set up a contest page on Facebook where you can post a link to your entry and all entrants will receive a $30 gift voucher towards the purchase of a canvas. The contest will end 11:59 PM PDT on February 10, 2012 so get your entries in as soon as possible!

Here is the photo that I would like to see enlarged and I already have a friend in mind to give to me. Thanks!

Your friend will be one lucky person, Shona. Good luck to you and thanks for dropping by!
Hi Sabrina-
I wanted to stop by to say…
-that is such a gorgeous image. I bet it looks fantastic on a nice large canvas… wherever it is
-I still can’t get over how much is sucks that someone did this.
-I’m totally impressed that you’ve turned this crappy event into a chance to give. You’re one classy woman!
Erin, I think you know how I feel about you. I am so grateful for your friendship and your caring spirit. So where is the link to your image??
Lovely image. Space and peace.
I won’t be eligible for the prize, but thought you might like to see this one anyway. lotuseater18.wordpress.com The image with the lotus shaped candles burning. When I have my printer working and finished the printing e-book, calibrating etc this is one I want to print for a meditation space.
Thanks for sharing Deborah. I love lotus flowers and the candle light is pretty…it would make a lovely canvas! As I mentioned to Cathy below, I have to find someone for everyone in the next giveaway or at least something that I could ship to you.
I’m also not eligible, but what a lovely idea! That is a stunning image up there also…it gives such a sense of scale and space.
If you have anyone in the US or Canada, you’d like to ship this to, please feel free to enter. If not, next time I’ll make sure I have something that everyone is eligible to win.
Hi there,
I’d love to submit a photo, but I don’t have a web-site. Is there some way I can send it to you?
Thanks, Laura
I trust you, Laura but if you’d like to send me your image just for me to enjoy, I would really love that. I’ve sent you an email so you can just reply back if you wish.
I would love to give a copy of this image on canvas to my best friend! We’re both turning 40 this October!

Oh I could see this one on a huge canvas…what a wonderful way to mark a milestone birthday with a friend!
What a great gesture….so you never found yours?
Here is one image I would like to give to a friend that has done a lot for me….and has bare walls!

Now that is one canvas I would love to see up on the wall, Matea. Good luck!
My parents are in the process of redecorating their living room and I would love to give them is for one of their bare walls.

I should give you extra points for being a great son, Brad. I am sure your parents would be very proud to hang your work in their home!
I would love to get this picture printed on Canvas! I’d give it to my wonderful roommate Greg, as he’s been the most rational, understanding, and reasonable friend I’ve ever had. He knows that I can barely afford to live, and he always covers my back when finances get tight. I’d love to give this to him as a token of my gratitude!

Greg sounds like a true friend and you are lucky to have someone like him in your life. Good luck!
What a fantastic idea and such a generous one. I know I’m not eligible but I’ve just put these images of the hounds in my print folder – I’d give them to their breeder who loves to see them still.

If I won (which I can’t), I’d order the biggest canvas I could of Fortum…he is ALL basset!
I would give this [ http://500px.com/photo/3290938 ] to my best friend, who is a mechanic, to hang in his newly refinished customer lobby. He has had a life-long passion for old European sports cars.
Wonderful work here Steven…thanks for sharing!
Great idea! I’d like to give the photo to a friend back in the U.S. who used to work with me here in Hanoi, Vietnam. Thank you.
I was wondering where the link was
Thanks for including it below.
Not sure who would get it yet but I’m sure I can find someone that would want it.

Thanks for sharing Jennifer…good luck!
Well as long as one has friends in the US or Canada one is eligible even if one lives in Norway, right?
This is the image I would like to give away:

Definintely Eli. As long as you are shipping in North America, you can enter for the draw. If you win the 16 x 20 canvas, you are responsible for the $14 shipping charge. If you wish the gift certificate, the shipping costs can be applied.
Don’t worry Eli, if you win there is a lot of people in the US and Canada more than willing to take any of your photos!
I can handle paying $14 to make someone happy!
oops! Here is the link to the photo: http://www.flickr.com/photos/owenelijah/6806467919/in/photostream
This is such a wonderful contest Sabrina! I’m loving all the images!
Thanks Sue…don’t forget to put your link in for the contest!
Wow, when you said you had an idea, you weren’t kidding Sabrina! This is such a nice thought and I assume a reflection of your kind nature. Please stop and detour in Australia when you visit China!
This is surely not one of my best images. But to the person I would like to give it to, it is home. He was a mentor for me here in Australia. They moved to the US exactly 1 year ago.

(PS what happened to your canvas!? It’s gorgeous. Sad to think it’s with somebody else – could never sign for something that’s not mine)
Not sure I can make it Down Under on this year’s trip but I would love to spend a couple of months there. I am sure your friend would love to hang this image on his wall to remind him of Australia and you
Hi Sabrina,
Here is the link to my image – that I would like to gift to my mom in her now home…she has bare walls and is a huge fan of this image I want to give to her
http://ellieericson.wordpress.com/2011/11/20/artful-impressions/
Ellie
Yes Ellie, that’s a grand idea for your mom’s new place. I just know she would love it!
Sabrina,
I really admire how you have turned a difficult situation into such a beautiful gesture. There is always something amazing about getting others involved in creating and increasing happiness and appreciation in the world.
I thought long and hard about this and if I win I would like to give this image to my friend Marc. He is a fantastic photographer and doesn’t hang his art in his house but he has expressed how much he likes my image of a boat on the beach in Mexico that I made several years ago. Marc is the most authentically nice person I’ve ever met, he developed a Flickr group to support and connect photographers in Albuquerque and Santa Fe and continually supports and encourages local photogs to get together and develop community asking and expecting nothing in return for himself. I would gift him this canvas; he has not only inspired me as a photographer but also as a human being.

Thanks for this opportunity,
Brian
Thanks Brian, I’m not as good as you make me sound as I’m sure I left an indelible impression with the vendor. And to be honest I just wanted to do something good for someone else because that always makes me feel better and grateful for my situation no matter how bad it is.
I love your images from Mexico and am very pleased to see this colourful one here. Good luck to you!
My mother also has a large bare wall desperately needing a canvas on it. I am sure she would enjoy my submission on her wall.

So glad you made it into the contest Chris and especially with this entry. It’s one of your favourites from Vietnam, isn’t it? Pretty sure it will look splendid no matter where it hangs.
I would prefer to get a canvas of your print, but if I must provide a link of the photo I want to put on canvas for my fiance … here it is. It’s a photo I took from a recent photo walk we went on … https://picasaweb.google.com/lh/photo/4OPWdzGjvmISLc3WfT4VOLv39CEVtSOy5U56fVD2BUM?feat=directlink
What a beautiful composition!
