Last month I entered five images for consideration for a show of work for former students of Vancouver Photo Workshops and a couple of weeks ago I learned that four out of the five were selected for the show. All of the images were from the dog series made at the Magnum Workshop I attended in Toronto earlier this year. This past Friday I had a chance to visit the Photo Haus Gallery with Ellie Ericson who had helped me prepare the images for printing. I tried to get some photographs of the images but they aren’t that great. They were installed in a narrow hallway with uneven lighting and you can see the reflection of images on the other wall. Still it was a kick to see my work printed large, matted, framed and hanging in a gallery for the very first time. If you live in Vancouver, I hope you have time to pop in to see the exhibit as there are some really good pieces on show.
I have continued with the series I started at the Magnum workshop and I think it will be one of those long term projects for me. Here’s one image I made a few months ago that I was saving for a post about the Magnum Blurb book. Unfortunately that book is taking a lot longer to finalize than they had expected so the post will be delayed. Hope you enjoy this image in the meantime!

This is fabulous, fabulous work. I haven’t been on your website in a while, but glad I came back to it to see these today! Congrats!!
Very good news. Congratulations on being in the gallery show, with 4 out of 5 no less. It seems your experience at the Magnum workshop is having a lasting effect.
Love it! And I can’t wait to see the Magnum Blurb book as well as the outcome (and blog posts along the way…;) of your long term project. Things really change when you start thinking of photo projects in this way, don’t they? Great stuff, Sabrina! Congrats!
Freaking awesome! Congrats girl, I only wish I was there to see it in person.
So exciting!! Congratulations, Sabrina. I love this series and the framed prints look fantastic up there on that wall. Like Charlene, I wish I could see the show in person, but I don’t think I could be any more excited for you.
Congratulations!! Exciting to know others see the quality of your work.
Great work, Sabrina. It certainly is a thrill to see ones work in print on a wall. I will pop in to Photo Haus next Monday when I arrive back in town. I hope the are are still there then.
Congratulations for having so many accepted to the show! They look great printed and framed, and hung as a series. What a fun project to work on long-term. Yay you!
This is brilliant Sabrina. Congratulations!!
Thanks everyone. After I got over the initial euphoria of having four images selected, I had to figure out the printing. Now I understand why people get all anxious when it comes to printing their images but I’d be lying if I said I wouldn’t do it all over again
Congratulations Sabrina!! It is a whole new world: printing, matting, framing and then seeing things on a wall – fantastic news!
Sneaky eh – you were making prints after all! Congratulations on having your photographs selected. As you know I thought they were wonderful and I love the new one too.
This is great, Sabrina, congratulations! Those images are so fun to watch- I love dogs. I am sure you had great time working on the project. Actually, there isn’t much street photography I like, it always seem to be too messy. But I like your images- they are clean, nothing distracts from the subject withut providing context.
Congrats on the selections. Great choice – I like them a lot. Always good, too, to have a long term project to continue to work on.
That is just wonderful. You must be so pleased. Keep it up!
I hope you also got a shot of yourself WITH the images even if not posting it. For the archives
