A few images from my visit last weekend to Port Townsend with Ellie Ericson. It was the first time I’ve been out photographing in PT when the fog was so heavy. Ellie and I ran into one of the town workers when we picked up our coffee from Better Living for Coffee who commented that the weather wasn’t great for making photographing. Of course we heartily disagreed with him. I was also reminded of what my friend Stuart Sipahigil mentions in his eBook about photographing close to home during different weather. Check out his monthly wallpaper for September for another example of this.
Have a great long weekend, everyone!

I LOVE how we see things so differently – makes me feel like we were on two completely different trips!
T’was a brilliant time to photograph – and we get to do it again in a month

I know Ellie…and to add to that, I LOVE the way you see. Looking forward to doing it again in a few weeks.
Lovely images. I love mist and cloud – always creates an amazing atmosphere.
Thanks Deborah…hope you are keeping well?
OMG (sorry, couldn’t find the right words to summarise my reaction to these photographs!). These are stunning. Please tell me you are getting them made up as prints. They are so atmospheric they gave me goosebumps.
You really made me laugh, Julie. I need to print more of my work that’s for sure…
Lovely pictures Sabrina, especially the first one. Fog presents an interesting challenge one that I wish we had from time to time here in Ottawa.
Much appreciated Ken. The first one is my favourite foggy one from the day too!
What great shots, Sabrina. And I heartily agreed; fog is great for photographs. Now if I could only find some somewhere…
Thanks Brian…you may have to head up here for a little fog…nudge, nudge, wink, wink
Looks like perfect weather for photographing to me. Heaps of atmosphere. Nice job!
I really like your first image. It is not only the negative space, the space is just like there was nothing there. First time I looked at it- I was sure it was just a panoramic crop. The second look revealed that it is the sky? fog?
