I decided I’m closing the week with a bit of a bang photographically. Here’s to colour and motion. During my San Francisco trip I borrowed Ray’s D300 because I’ve been feeling that I’m outgrowing my D80. I’m not sure how to describe why I feel that way; I just do. So here’s a multiple exposure–five exposures, I think.
Oh and congratulations to Anita, winner of the $20 Craft and Vision gift coupon. Enjoy! A sincere thank you to Eli Reinholdtsen for sharing her story. I’m looking forward to seeing more of her work and journey in the years to come.
Enjoy your weekend, everyone

Ya mean Ray didn’t just give it to you? I know, maybe he’ll trade with you. And, enjoy your weekend!!
How did you know, Monte? I’m actually down for the weekend and I’ll be sneaking the D300 out of Ray’s house when I leave. I would try for the D700 but I don’t think I’d make it very far.
Have yourself a great weekend!
You desire more control/performance!
Will Santa be bringing you something in a gold box then?
That’s an awesome image! How did you make it?
Oh yes, I luv the way you put that…makes me sound so professional. I’m stuck on which body to buy. I waited pretty much most of this year for the replacement for the D700 but no sign of it. Now I’m thinking I should just get the D300s in the meantime.
This image is 5 in-camera exposures. After each exposure I changed the focal length slightly so looks like the tree is moving. I checked your D7000 and it’s like my D80, maximum 3 exposures. You can still have a lot of fun with just three exposures. Give it a whirl and let me know how the images turn out.
The next generation D700 (D800 they are calling it) is probably going to be announced 3 or 4 months into next year if all the rumour sites are to be believed. It will probably have that insane low noise control and HD video. If you are set on it then wait and don’t get a D300S. When I first got the D300 I thought it was the best thing in the world. It took exactly 2 hours for me to regard it as a piece of crap after I opened the box containing my D700…
This sounds like an intriguing image to make. I shall give it a try asap! Thank you
Be careful there. The D80 compared to anything now is going to get a flogging. Digital cameras are practically obsolete by the time we buy them and that camera has been bumped by the D90 which has been bumped by the D7100 already. If guys like rockwell and terry white are to be believed, the D7100 now smokes the D300s. Cameras improve so much from generation to generation that even thinking about the D300s is like thinking about an XP computer because it’s so much better than millenium. (i can’t believe i’m using windows analogies. sacrilege.) Next year will certainly see a few cameras from Nikon.
But then again, a camera in hand makes pictures that can’t be beaten by a camera not released.
I forget, what you are using these days Michael?
Hey Sabrina, didn’t know you and Ray are Nikon shooters.
Interested to see what camera you decide on. Love what you’ve done with this image, …such a happy vision of fall.
Thanks for the C&V gift coupon. I’ve never won anything in a blog contest before, ..so exciting! I will really enjoy using it. (perhaps you can give us a hint at what’s up & coming to use it on!)
Thanks again. Happy shooting!
You KNOW I love this shot!
I love making these type of images!!!
I went from Nikon D40 to D300, and I just love this camera. I cannot image D700 offer anything I need beyond what my D300 has. It will be interesting to see what you decide on, when you are ready for the purchase.
