9-11: the other stories

Yesterday I posted images to mark the 9th anniversary of 9-11. I was moved to be in New York City on this solemn occasion but there were other stories we were photographing while we were there. The image above was photographed from a real photojournalist perspective. We were in an area termed the “press box” which was set aside in front of this protester to keep the crowds under control. There were hoards of photographers as well as people who had gathered to hear the speaker. Definitely a grab shot as I stood on my tiptoes but one that I believe has all the quintessentials of the story. The sign describing the protest, an American flag, two New York City cops in the crowd, and New York City in the background. I’ve been struggling with my exposures lately so I was very pleased to see that this image was properly exposed and no cropping was needed. Below are some images to reflect the other stories of the day.

Another fine post. Ya know we are starting to expect more each time we come here. :-)

I also read Marks post introducing you to more people, which I hope happens for you. You are gifted and not just photographically. What you present on your blog, in your photos and your writing, is a part of you. As Ray says, “a unique voice is individual and not something that can be duplicated.” Thanks for sharing your voice.

It must have been stirring being there. You’ve captured the feeling really well here, I can almost imagine it myself, halfway around the world.

Great stuff Sabrina! Think I agree with Monty about expecting more everytime I get here :)
