This has been an exciting week for me with the launch of “The Chronicles of Learning Photography“. We’ve been able to attract 100 people and seen some sharing and learning already taking place. It’s the kind of stuff that really excites me. As a thank you, I have something special to announce today.
Lew Bedell, the founder of Artistic Photo Canvas, has generously donated a 20 x 30 gallery wrap canvas to giveaway on my Facebook page. Some of you are already following them on Twitter and on Facebook but some of you may not have heard of Artistic Photo Canvas yet so let me share my experience with you. I was first introduced to APC by David duChemin who has several of his images on canvas. My first order from them was the group’s collection of images from my Freeman Patterson workshop. I was really impressed not only with the quality of the canvas but also with the customer service during my first purchase from them. There was an issue with the wrong shipping address but Anne fixed everything very quickly. When I returned from my trip to Kenya, I wanted to have one of my favourite images on canvas. It just so happened that APC was having a 50% sale on their 16 x 20 canvas prints so I ordered two, one of my leopard in the tree and one of the lone tree image you see above. To give you an idea of how amazing the customer service is, I submitted images sized to 16 x 24 which were not part of the sale but APC was good enough to honour my purchase and allow me to buy the larger sized canvas at 50% off.
Today the leopard sits in my office at work and I am reminded of the wonderful memories of an unforgettable trip. I gave the lone tree canvas to a friend of mine who is quite fascinated with the weather but I really wish I would have kept it for myself. If I were to win a 20 x 30 canvas, I would print the lone tree again but this is one contest I can’t enter
You’re probably wondering how you can win this canvas, right? Well all you have to do is select a photograph you’d like to have on a 20 x 30 canvas and tell us why you chose that particular image. Post your photograph–and your story–to our wall on Facebook and we will do a straight draw for the winner on May 21st.
So what are you waiting for? Pull out your favourite photographs, relive the stories, and savour the memories. Then share them with us!

That is an image with punch, Sabrina. Wooot! Definitely have a canvas made for yourself!
Hey Sabrina, just posted my story and a link to the photo on your wall. Does the image have to be uploaded to Facebook also? I just ask because I have issues with the way Facebook treats images uploaded and would prefer not to do that if possible.
Thanks for your question Ed.
No the image doesn’t need to be uploaded to Facebook. You can include a link with the image as you’ve done. You do need to let us know why you’ve chosen that particular image.
Good luck!
