We were a world away in the Samburu National Park when the news broke about the devasting earthquake in Haiti. In fact I saw the breaking news on Twitter but ran out of internet access so Bea, one of our travelmates, briefed us on the reports coming out of Port-au-Prince. The estimates of casualities were sketchy and varied wildly but now more than two weeks after the earthquake the world is getting a much better picture of the extensive needs in Haiti.
Just over a week ago I was contact by @laurabergerol via Twitter to see if I’d be interested in contributing to a project she and some others were launching to assist the rescue efforts in Haiti. While Images Without Borders began as a response to the situation there, it is now affliated with Doctors Without Borders with plans to provide ongoing support to the global work of this organization. The idea is simple. Photographers contribute images to IWOB and buyers can purchase an art print of their choice in several sizes. The proceeds go to support relief efforts where they are most needed. Each photograph is limited to 10 prints to give buyers access to a wide variety of images and to give more photographers a chance to be a part of this amazing project.
I am so humbled to be invited to be a part of this along with some of my other Twitter colleagues @cfimages and @jefflynchphoto. Please support our efforts by publicizing this project through links to @IMAGESwoBORDERS on Twitter, on Facebook, or directly to their site on your own website or blog. And if the spirit moves you, purchase a print or two.

Wonderful idea and a wonderful project, I’ll defiantly spread the word.
Looks like the spell check got me again on ‘defiantly’ although it may fit anyway.
Thanks Ray…both work for me
