I’m starting a feature on my blog today called “news news“. The title has a nice ring to it but it is also an ode to my brother-in-law, David who has a propensity to use a word twice for emphasis. The posting is intended to keep everyone up to date with the latest tidbits so here goes…

  • Henrys.com had the Epson P-3000 Multimedia Viewer on a Boxing Day Sale. Although the new P-7000 with a whopping 160GB is out, I decided to buy the very modest 40GB P-3000 because it was a good deal with the rebate. It will be very useful when I travel down to Florida next month.
  • Voting for the 2008 Weblogs Awards for the best photoblog is underway. I was impressed with one of the finalists The Big Picture so I’ve added the site to my blog roll.
  • Today is the official start of my four-week course in HDR. I’ve taken a look at the first lesson and I can see that it is going to be a good challenge for me. I also purchased Photomatix which is required for the course.
  • I’ve been waiting for Scott Kelby’s limited edition spiral bound Photoshop CS4 for Digital Photographers and today I was notified that it was released for shipping. Good thing I signed up for my copy early as the remaining copies are now only available for NAPP members.
  • Robert La Follette just published his Animals of Florida book. This 176 paged treasure containing more than 200 photographs is a culmination of four years of travel around Florida. Check it out here.

    That’s it for now!
